Better Health Dental II, LLC, doing business as Better Health Dental
(“we,” “us,” “our”), publishes betterhealthdental.com
(the “Site”) to help people in Decatur and the surrounding communities understand dental care
and decide whether our practice is a good fit for them.
Everything on the Site is general educational information. It is not dental or medical advice, and
it is not a substitute for examination, diagnosis, and treatment by a licensed professional who knows your
history and can look in your mouth. Please read this page before relying on anything you find here.
1. No Dental or Medical Advice
The service descriptions, blog articles, frequently asked questions, and other content on the Site are written for a general audience. They cannot account for your health history, medications, allergies, radiographs, bite, bone and gum condition, or anything else a dentist must evaluate before recommending treatment.
Do not use the Site to diagnose yourself, to decide against a treatment a licensed dentist or physician has recommended, or to delay care. Always consult a qualified dentist or physician about your own situation, and never disregard professional advice because of something you read here.
2. No Dentist–Patient Relationship
Reading the Site, submitting a form, subscribing to our newsletter, or exchanging messages with our office does not create a dentist–patient relationship with Dr. Sharifa Walker, DDS or with anyone else at the practice. That relationship begins only after you are seen, examined, and accepted for care at our Decatur office, and after the consent and financial documents for your treatment are completed.
Dr. Walker is licensed to practice dentistry in the State of Georgia. We can evaluate and treat patients only in person at our Georgia office; we do not diagnose, prescribe, or treat by email, text, web form, or social media, and we cannot answer clinical questions for someone who is not our patient.
3. Dental Emergencies
The Site is not monitored for emergencies. If you have uncontrolled bleeding, significant or spreading swelling, difficulty breathing or swallowing, a facial injury, a knocked-out tooth, or severe pain, call us at (404) 446-2776 right away. If the situation is or may become life-threatening, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room. Do not wait for a reply to a web form, an email, or a social media message.
We hold same-day emergency appointments every day we are open. Calling is always the fastest way to reach us.
4. Treatment Results Vary
No two patients heal, age, or respond to treatment identically. Any description of a result, timeline, longevity, or experience on the Site reflects what is typical or possible — not what will happen for you. Factors including your general health, medications, oral hygiene, diet, habits such as clenching or smoking, anatomy, and how faithfully you follow home care and recall visits all affect the outcome. We do not guarantee any specific result from any treatment.
Dr. Walker will discuss the benefits, risks, alternatives, and realistic expectations of any proposed treatment with you before it begins, and you are free to ask questions, to seek a second opinion, and to decline.
5. Photography on the Site
Before-and-after images. The clinical comparison images on our EMFACE page were supplied by the device manufacturer, BTL Aesthetics, and by other treating physicians, and are used with permission with the credit shown beneath each image. They are not photographs of Better Health Dental patients, and they do not predict or promise the result any particular person will achieve. Where a treatment count is noted — for example “after 4 treatments” — that is the protocol that produced the pictured result, not a standard course of care for everyone.
Other photography. Photographs of Dr. Walker, our team, and our office are genuine images of our practice. Some lifestyle and stock imagery is used for illustration and does not depict our patients. We do not publish a patient’s photograph, name, or words without that patient’s separate written authorization.
6. EMFACE and Device Information
EMFACE® is a registered trademark of BTL Aesthetics. It is cleared by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for the temporary reduction of facial wrinkles and for the treatment of temporomandibular joint (TMJ) dysfunction and associated pain. Information on the Site about how the device works, its clearances, and its published study results comes from the manufacturer and from the clinical literature; we do not independently verify the manufacturer’s data and we make no claim beyond the cleared indications.
EMFACE is not suitable for everyone. Candidacy, contraindications, the number of sessions appropriate for you, and any expected benefit are determined only at an in-person consultation. Nothing on the Site is an offer of treatment or a determination that you are a candidate.
7. Articles, Dates, and Accuracy
Our blog posts and educational pages carry a published or updated date. Dentistry, materials, and clinical guidance change, and a page that was accurate when written may no longer reflect current best practice. We review content periodically but do not update every page continuously, and we make no warranty that the Site is complete, current, or free of error.
If you spot something on the Site that looks wrong or out of date, we would genuinely like to know: write to privacyandlegal@betterhealthdental.com.
8. Cost, Insurance, and Financing
Any figure, range, or payment example on the Site is an estimate for general information only. It is not a quote, a fee schedule, or a guarantee of what you will owe. Your cost depends on your diagnosis, the treatment plan you and Dr. Walker agree on, your insurance plan’s terms, your remaining benefit and deductible, and any lab or material choices. We provide a written estimate before treatment.
We are not an insurance company and cannot determine your benefits or guarantee coverage; only your plan can. Sunbit and CareCredit are independent lenders whose approval decisions and credit terms are their own. We receive no portion of any interest or finance charge, and we do not pay or receive any fee for referring a patient to any provider or product.
9. Third-Party Content and Links
The Site links to and occasionally summarizes material from outside sources, including device manufacturers, professional associations, community organizations, and our own service providers. We do not control that material, and a link is not an endorsement of everything on the linked site. Once you follow a link away from the Site, that site’s own terms, disclaimers, and privacy practices apply.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your reliance on information published on the Site. The limitation of liability in Section 10 of our Terms of Use applies to this Disclaimer as well.
This page concerns the website. It does not limit, waive, or alter the standard of care, the professional obligations, or the rights you have as a patient of the practice under Georgia law, the rules of the Georgia Board of Dentistry, or federal law.
